Higurashi Daybreak is a Japanese dōjin third person shooter developed by Twilight Frontier, first released on August 13, 2006 and is based on the popular visual novel, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.

Higurashi Daybreak Kai is the expansion to Higurashi Daybreak. Not only does it add two new fighters, but an entirely new stage and three new story modes! It also improves a lot of aspects of the original game. It is recommended to play Higurashi Daybreak Kai when playing the game.
Why Did You Make This Project?
INSTALLING THE PATCH:
Step 1: Your going to need a copy of Higurashi Daybreak or Higurashi Daybreak Kai. This game can be difficult to obtain, but please try to find a legit copy. Twilight Frontier and 7th Expansion worked hard on this. Higurashi Daybreak wiki contains a buying guide for buying legit copies of the game :D
Step 2: Download and extract the Higurashi Daybreak Fan Translation File. Click either DFTP.exe or DFTP_x64.exe
Step 3: Drag either "Daybreak.exe" or "DaybreakDX.exe" into the open slots of the patcher. Wait for the game icon to appear
Step 4: Check off "Daybreak_ENG" and click "Write to game"
Step 5: Click "Ok" on the window confirming you wish to write the game to English and boom! Your game is now in English :D
This entire project was started by Nightfight3 and Dmitriy, two fans of the Higurashi series who wanted to enjoy this game in English. Up until now, the game had been frozen in time on the internet. No one talked about the PC Version of Daybreak and it seemed like the world had forgotten about it, but these two were inspired. That is how the project began.
Ok... I'll stop with the story. Anyway, we instantly took to online to learn as much as we could, but with no luck. It seemed the game had been dead since Windows Vista, but it turns out there was an entire community in Japan for this game and eventually (Created after patch progress started) a new community in North America for the game!
We hope to give those players an amazing experience!
